upGrad, an integrated learning, skilling, and workforce development company, recently announced that it will be launching 100 offline counselling touchpoints and learning centres across the country over the next 12 months to reach out to potential customers and accelerate its growth. The company stated that it has allocated a corpus of INR 100 crore to open these learning centres, focusing on non-metros and smaller towns.
As per an official statement, the centres will serve as hubs for career counselling and will have access to all of upGrad’s courses and programmes in one place. The startup has opened its first two learning centres in Mumbai and Delhi and the first two in Indore and Pune.
Initial reactions have been strong, with over 500 career counselling sessions completed in the first 30 days. The goal is for the 100 centres to counsel over half a million people on their professional paths and for the learning centres to enrol over 10,000 students, as stated in the statement. upGrad currently claims to have an offline presence through 50 franchisees and 150 channel partners.
Speaking about the development, Co-founder & MD of upGrad, Mayank Kumar, said:
