Wayble, an EdTech solution for international student success, has recently announced its acquisition of PsyMood, an innovative mental health and mentorship service designed for culturally sensitive support. This acquisition will enhance the international student experience by enabling institutions to provide comprehensive support beyond academics and career guidance, addressing students’ unique challenges while adapting to a new culture.
Incorporating PsyMood’s diverse team of mental health practitioners, career coaches, and mentors into Wayble’s platform allows international students access to specialized support that respects their language, culture, and faith. These crucial services are meant to assist students in overcoming the hurdles of adapting to a new environment, including creating social networks and interacting with mentors—critical variables for effective integration and general well-being. A total of 780 professionals will be available on the Wayble platform, offering students focused on one-on-one support throughout their journey.
PsyMood has established a robust network of practitioners in 45 countries and 43 languages in its four years of commercial operation, including psychotherapists, psychologists, career coaches, and mentors. These specialists are prepared to provide culturally sensitive assistance to newcomers, visible minorities, and international students.
Commenting on the acquisition, Pat Chaisang, Wayble’s Co-Founder and CEO, said:
From the outset, Wayble’s mission has been to ensure that international students feel welcomed, empowered, and fully supported as they navigate their life and career journeys in a new country. With the ongoing changes in international education policies, students face more significant challenges than ever in managing their personal and professional paths. This acquisition is pivotal to address the critical gaps in support within the industry.
PsyMood’s integration comes at a crucial time. It addresses major gaps in traditional support systems while also ensuring that overseas students have access to improved mental health resources and culturally relevant mentoring. With this enhanced offering, Wayble is better positioned to assist students in laying a solid foundation for success, enabling them to overcome challenges and fully integrate into their new academic and professional contexts.
Fred Neumann, Co-founder and CEO of PsyMood added:
I’m excited to enter this new chapter with Wayble. Since launching PsyMood in 2020 with my friend Rodrigo Bergel, mental health support has become my passion and professional mission. Through PsyMood, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the unique challenges international students face, and I’m eager to continue addressing these needs on an even broader scale.
