LaborWorx, an Atlanta-based new skilled worker marketplace that connects understaffed construction and manufacturing companies with certified professionals, has raised $4.2 million in its first round of funding. The company did not disclose investors.
With the new fundraising, the startup plans to increase its existing team in Georgia, expand its presence in the Carolinas and Texas, boost its client acquisition efforts, and introduce a mobile application this summer.
Founded in 2022 by Aaron Phillips, LaborWorx provides a platform for companies to find, hire, and pay on-demand workers. Its worker marketplace and mobile application connect companies in need with certified professionals safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. It has built technology that helps connect employees to employers, creating a better opportunity for everyone. The solution is designed to find the right employees for open positions based on skills, location, rate and availability.
Hiring and training workers for short-term or special projects can be costly; the startup also offers one with safe, productive, and experienced tradespeople who, under the supervisors, can complete tasks more efficiently and at less cost to the business. It puts the decision-making power back in one’s hands. Choose a job based on location, duration, or both. Great work in one position means the next job will always await when needed.
LaborWorx also offers a unique talent network that ensures it can meet 100 per cent of one’s professional trade needs, including niche or notable project roles. It avoids holdover syndrome by hiring skilled labour only when an individual needs it.
