The need for providing access to the widest range of home tutors and private tutors across the nation has grown substantially. With the ease of access to technology, many companies have been able to solve this need across the globe but the company that stands out from India amongst them is NCRTutors.
Our team recently reached out to the person behind this growth and success of the company; we were happy to interview Amit Gupta, Founder at NCRTutors.
Describe your company in shortest number of words
We are an Education Process Outsourcing Company supporting Schools, Colleges and education domain companies by providing teachers and trainers. Currently we are working with Schools, Colleges and e-learning companies in India, US, UK, Japan and Nepal.
Our teachers are conducting online math classes in more than 50 schools in UK as e-learning companies based in UK outsourced their operation to us. Organization outside India who work with us typically save their operation cost by 30-50%.
What is your company’s core value proposition? What problem are you solving and for whom?
Almost every school, colleges and education domain companies are not able to find right teachers and trainers in terms of quality. We help organization to focus on business rather than operations, recruitment and delivery. Vision of NCR Tutors will always remain to improve quality in teaching and empowering teachers, we need better educators to make this World a better place.
How do you plan to check on the user satisfaction?
We take regular feedback from users to ensure we are delivering right quality, in service Industry user satisfaction is most important thing then only we can grow and survive.
What is the driving passion, why are you passionate about this product? What is your vision?
I am passionate about outsourcing our teachers to every part of the world, Indians already set benchmark in IT & BPO Industry so I look forward for same in education domain as well.
What is the stage of the product/company? Where do you see your company in 12 or 18 months from now?
I conceptualized in 2010 with capital less than Rs. 10,000 and now we have team of 40 employees in India and 1 in US. For coming financial year our target is to touch revenue of 3.5 Cr and team size of 60. In 2014-15 our growth is approximately 5 times.
What is the biggest need for your startup?
Biggest need for us is Market Access and Channels which we are exploring every day.
What are your views about the growth of E-Learning/EdTech industry?
E-Learning Industry is already the boom after IT as whole world is a classroom now. Teachers and students are interacting with each other irrespective of any physical boundaries. We are teaching to students in UK and Japan’s schools by sitting here at our office in Noida.
Tell us about your team, who do you have supporting you? How did this start?
While I was in my college I used to take Home Tuition to make some extra money then I realized there is a huge gap between demand and supply. People are ready to pay for quality education but don’t know how to find right teacher and if I look at the teachers’ point of view then they are not able to find right opportunity. So I thought to create an ecosystem where we can provide more and more opportunities in education domain, now we are working with lot of schools and companies and provide part/full time or contractual opportunities to teacher. As far as my team is concerned Ankit and Mitesh played very crucial role in shaping up this organization, their never say “NO” attitude helped us to grow..
What/Who motivates you? Any thought leader or companies with innovation which you follow for success? Whether in the EdTech space or in general?
Story of Ganesh Krishna(Tutor Vista) really motivates me a lot, I follow Steve Jobs as his speeches are very inspiring.
Who would you call your competitors? And how are you different?
As of now we hardly have any direct competition in market so we are taking an advantage of early bird movers, our verticals might be compared with others but overall business cannot be compared as our verticals compliment to each other.
After meeting him, we believe that one the major reasons behind the success is Amit’s humbleness and openness to share what he has learnt in the journey, this might help other entrepreneurs in the space. We recommend e-learning startups in India to get in touch with him.
