Zoom has announced Zoom Workplace for Education, a new UCaaS solution to enhance collaboration in schools and universities. Zoom Workplace for Education is a secure platform tailored for educational institutions that combines voice, video, chat, phone, live meetings, webinars, recording, transcription, translation services, AV room integration, and more.
Zoom underlines this comprehensive solution, designed to streamline collaboration and elevate learning experiences, providing educators and students with an all-in-one toolkit for seamless communication and engagement. The platform highlights that the offering stems from the growing necessity of unified communications and collaboration in education. As hybrid and remote work environments, flexible learning models, and essential student services—such as recruitment, health services, financial aid, and alumni relations—become standard, it emphasizes that educational institutions require robust tools to support these evolving needs.
Speaking about the development, Johann Zimmern, Education Strategy Lead at Zoom, said:
Zoom Meetings was a key communication tool across many local education authorities, schools, colleges, and universities well before 2020. Most people don’t know that Zoom is much more than video meetings. The platform includes products like Zoom Phone, Zoom Rooms, Zoom Virtual Agent, Zoom Contact Center, and more to help streamline collaboration and communication needs for faculty, administrators, and students alike.
Zoom Workplace for Education has announced five new licensing bundles tailored to educational institutions’ different demands. The bundles—School & Campus, School & Campus Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Plus, and Enterprise Premier—provide customized solutions that improve management and operations.
Zoom said the new license options allow universities to select between “buy-as-you-need” models and enterprise-wide coverage. This approach aims to ensure that schools and campuses of all sizes can access solutions that meet their specific needs and budgets while benefiting from a UC platform.
Zoom recently introduced a new video SDK resale service. The Zoom Video SDK is now generally accessible. It is an entirely programmable toolkit enabling users to implement Zoom’s core features—video, audio, screen sharing, and chat—directly into their apps. The SDK is designed for versatility and facilitates high-quality, real-time communication in various industries, including healthcare, education, and more. Zoom emphasizes its ability to improve user experiences by seamlessly integrating reliable communication technologies into tailored workflows and products.
