Swiflearn, an online live tutoring startup for children of new age parents, has raised an undisclosed amount in a fresh seed funding round to scale its platform.
The Gurugram-based startup secured the capital from Stellaris Venture Partners and Venture Highway, and Utsav Somani, founder of Angel List India who participated in the round, according to reports.
Founded in 2019 by Abhinav Agarwal and Anand Bakode, both IIT Bombay graduates, Swiflearn aims to transform current offline tuition into a completely online avatar. It provides a platform for children to excel academically by helping them learn from anywhere and anytime, and by providing online interactive classes. The startup uses latest technology, proven pedagogy techniques and mode of teaching with focus on laying strong conceptual foundation for kids’ higher education.
Swiflearn provides live, face-to-face online tuitions for classes 5 to 10 (both CBSE and ICSE), with full syllabus mapping and coverage, planned calendar for school and exam needs, and unlimited tests for practice. It takes only few students in each batch to ensure every child gets teacher’s full engagement and attention during the class.
Speaking about the startup and explaining how it provides personalised learning to its students, Abhinav Agarwal, Co-founder, Swiflearn, said,
“The focus is on personal learning and hence our batches are never more than five students. It ensures personal attention for each student from the teacher, enabling every student to ask doubts freely during the class. The classes are a two-way interactive format and teachers use in-house developed content, pedagogy, testing tools, and learning tracking mechanisms. Parents receive timely updates about their child’s class participation, homework completion and learning progress. They also get to work on designed practice tests. The classes mirror school schedules for the maximum benefit of students.”
According to reports, Swiflearn plans to use the latest funding to build its platform to make it a respected learning one for K-12 students looking for personalized learning for their school studies and competitive exams. Overall, it aims to make learning scalable and affordable.
Supplementing his co-founder in explaining about the startup, Anand Bakode said,
“Teachers are at the heart of what we do and at Swiflearn. They are selected through a rigorous selection process. The in-house team dedicates a lot of time on teacher training, capability building, and orientation on using technology tools to deliver engaging online classes as well as to track students’ learning from technology. Our support in terms of content, lesson plans, assessments, tests, training, scheduling removes all the overhead work burdens of teachers and reduces the barrier for someone to become a great teacher and deliver great classes. We see this as a respectable, long-term income stream opportunity for many people, especially current school teachers, tutors, homemakers, and fresh graduates.”
Meanwhile, as part of the investment, Swiflearn's founding team will now be guided by Rahul Choudhary and Priya Mohan from Stellaris and Venture Highway.
