In order to create a collection, a user needs to have an account with Gooru with the user registration being a fairly simple task. The user needs to fill up the registration form with DOB and Email being its sole requirements. Once the user confirms the mail address by clicking the link sent by Gooru, the additional login credentials are asked along with the user’s role (as a Student, Teacher or a Parent).
Gooru offer a quick help guide to the users to assist users get acquainted with the system. This guide is supplemented with a video tutorial and a dedicated support e-mail id.
Once logged in, a user can very quickly search and navigate through resources and create collections of resources as per their requirements. The collection offers the user ability to add multiple resources under one head and share and manage the resources flawlessly. Additionally a user can use the collection management option to add additional information about the collection (eg: multiple subjects, course standard that the resource is following and sharing and privacy settings amongst other things). Teachers can have multiple collections containing multiple resources in the form of videos, images, pdfs, etc. One of the best features is that a teacher can add MCQ and True/False based questions along with explanations of the questions and hints to help the students answer the questions. The teacher is able to track the views of the collection and even track the correctness of the answers submitted by the collaborators(who can be the students or other users as well).
The system is pretty much open for all but under development. Features of collaboration and analytics are not available currently but still, Gooru is a very good tool for creating multimedia content for sharing with people.

Our Review:- Gooru as a platform is a very powerful tool and the team behind is putting in more and more features to make it an ideal tool for teaching. It is currently equipped with search and create collection features while the teach, collaborate and analytics features are under development. The tool offers very easy access for searching and creating collections of resources and all the results are apt for educational purposes along with the tile based layout and ability to create questions and add them as resources to the collection and rearrange the resources as and when needed. The sharing is again very helpful as a very small link is generated. One of the best things is the ability to embed interactive material as we got to know when we came across the topic “Dissolving Salts in Water” and the ability to support such interactive elements makes things very interesting not only for the teachers, but for students as well.
We look forward to the introduction of the features that will complete Gooru as a replete solution for teaching with digital content.
