We always assess students by grading them according to their test scores.
But how do we assess the schools? How do we know if the teaching method of the school is efficient or not even with ICT integration?
Take a look at these pointers, stating things that you must keep in your mind while looking for schools with ICT Integration.
1) Quality Teaching and Learning:
There are three important characteristics that are needed to develop good quality teaching and learning with ICT: autonomy, capability, and creativity. Autonomy means that students take control of their learning through their use of ICT. With regard to capability, once students are more confident in learning processes, they can develop the capability to apply and transfer knowledge while using new technology with efficiency and effectiveness and creativity is optimized when students are introduced to new tools and multimedia.
2) ICT and the generic skills, knowledge and understanding:
The teachers and the faculty must have good knowledge in regard to ICT. Teaching method should be implemented in a manner that the students understand the maximum. Creative and engaged classroom sessions should be practiced to keep students interested, active and engaged in classrooms. Concepts such as provisionality, invisibility and interactivity are considered.
3) ICT supporting teaching and classroom management and self directed learning:
Teachers must support the integration of technology and be ready to adapt to the fast changes that take place. Classrooms should be manageable and show the positive aspects of how technology enhances learning for the students. The ever increasing use of computers in schools and training brings in a greater potential for health and safety hazards therefore these things should be taken care of. Students are now more engaged in the meaningful use of technologies. Constructive learning approaches must be a part of curriculum so that ICT helps students focus on higher-level concepts.
4) ICT supporting learning and students progress in parents’ knowledge:
The different aspects of learning and how technology can support that learning are considered here. Students must gain an increased awareness of learning theories. The value of assessment for learning and the ICT based techniques that support assessment must be present. Also, parents should be aware of their child’s performance throughout.
5) ICT in the future and the wider world:
The must consideration of education for sustainable development, citizenship and the social, economic, ethical and moral implications of the pervasive impact of ICT are taken care of. The opportunities ICT provides students should be met.
