Before I start telling you about the improvement in education system, I must have to tell you some faulty practices that are following by educators or teachers. It is good that every teacher thinks of their student’s results in the examination but how 

many of them think about the student’s conceptual knowledge on what have been taught in the class. Now-a-days, with increase in population in schools and colleges, people are allowed to sit in larger crowd and lectures are given to them as at once. Students are capable of storing large information into the mind but because of the past education trend they can’t sustain that information for longer period of time, it’s not their fault yet they are capable of listen to the class attentively for certain time, but we are forced to sit for more than 1 hour.

In order to improve the education system, we must change the teaching strategy in schools, colleges and universities. “It is quite common that students watch the 1 and half hour movie but they are not willing to do the same in the class rooms.” It is because faculty don’t make their lecture engaging alike the director of the movie does. So firstly, it’s recommended to deliver the interesting and engaging speeches. Also, when we are teaching huge audience, rather than the speech we must concentrate more on interactive sessions, real time experimental explanations.  

What the students generally think before joining the college?

So many students joins the college with some preconceptions but those are getting reverted by the faculty’s traditional style of teaching. It’s not really their fault. We cannot identify two identical fruits in a basket;” likewise it is not advised to follow the same old technique for group of people with different mentalities. Lectures should be given with respective of their interest and their way of learning. I have a good example for you, when I was a kid, I have passion towards computers and it was increased day-by-day, so I have opted for computer science as my field of interest in engineering unfortunately, I have ended up with a great disappointment because of pure theoretical explanation done by faculty rather than what I have expected to be in a computer’s stream. So lecturers have to concentrate on this point and teach based on these conceptions using real world examples which make them to listen.

But Eric Mazur, a professor at Harvard’s university had given up the lectures which he considered to be useless.

In a research, according to David Hestenes, it has been proved that utilization of technology is more by a student when compared to teachers, this means that lecturers are still hanging up with the old trends of teaching. Education system must be changed in such a way that teachers should ask the students to read the text book prior to the lecture and after the lecture on that concept is over then there should be an interaction class where teachers will send the questions to students via mail or mobiles as a common broadcast and asked them to reply back with the answers. After that allowing each individual to communicate with the others who is sitting next to them. Sharing is the only way to gain the knowledge than teaching lectures in the class.
