EdTech's Role in Special Education Reform by Dr.Michael Hart (Part 2)

Welcome back to the Core’s focus on dyslexia and the impact education technology is having on children in classrooms across the globe in Part 2 of this 5-part series .

Once again our special contributor is Dr. Michael Hart . Michael and I discuss

the “mapping” approach to education technology solutions  and specifically discuss voice recognition software , mobile versus laptop, text-to-voice tools  and audio books as tools to assist dyslexic children. You will also learn a great deal about the foundations of language processing and the impact this knowledge can have on classroom instruction around the world.

A young girl, named “Elizabeth”, is profiled by Michael to illustrate the impact intervention and technology can have on a 6th grader reading at the 2nd grade level. Please refer to the links in this text for great resources!

Enjoy!
