Cyberlaw Education Profiled with Parry AftabWell-known privacy lawyer Parry Aftab  sat down to discuss cyberlaw and education. Aftab  is considered, by many, as the founding voice in the battle to protect children from cyber criminals.

Her unique background and efforts make for a fascinating discussion about internet safety. We discuss a number of issues including the false sense of security we get from mobile apps, professional development for educators and cyber law moving forward.

Aftab  is an award winning columnist, author and an in-demand public speaker. Aftab founded and continues to run the world’s largest cybersafety and help group, now known as WiredSafety.org . Recently she founded WiredTrust, a risk manageent consulting firm, to advise industry and policy makers on best practices. Her clients include the “who’s who” of the Internet – Disney, Nickelodeon, Facebook, Zynga, myYearbook and Build-A-Bear Workshop.

Chris Kelly, while Facebook’s chief privacy officer, said “No one knows more about what teens and tweens are doing online, and few understand how to advise the industry as well as Parry does.” She is called the “ Kids Internet Lawyer ” and runs The Privacy Lawyer blog as well as ParryAftab.blogspot.com

Aftab has constructed a StopCyberBullying Toolki t for the K-12 community with an abundance of resources that I highly recommend. We welcome comments and questions as we aim to inform schools and their surrounding communities on the challenges of a connected world.
