A joint effort between the former Minister of Education for England, Lord James Knight, the e-Learning Foundation from the U.K. and the 1:1 Institute from the U.S. brought together dignitaries and thought leaders in education from around the world.
The Core was privileged to be invited along with ISTE CEO Brian Lewis (International Society for Technology in Education) who sat down for an in-depth look at education technology. Against the backdrop of the House of Lords in London, we discussed the role organizations like ISTE play in the ongoing development of educators using technology.
Lewis also touched on the efforts ISTE is tackling to connect various regions of the world with standards and protocol for successful integration of technology in classrooms. The implementation of ISTE standards with regards to culture is discussed as Lewis shares some exciting news coming from the Middle East.
Lewis discussed upcoming the upcoming international conference in Atlanta. The technology sector often gets mislabeled as dry and entirely too linear. I think you will agree with me that Lewis represents a diverse background and outlook on policy, funding and standards that thoroughly distances him from the vanguard of education’s stale past.
Enjoy!
